I'm going to tell your wife. You should be working arounmd the house instead of haring around the place on a big black motorbike. You should get something more sensible like my bike.

Yep! That's NZ - cold, wet, and rainy for 10 months of the year! Don't talk "heatwaves" either! Last summer the Hunter Valley reached a scorching 49 degrees celcius during the day, and cooled down to 33 degrees at night. It was a dry heat like someone turning on a giant blowdryer. Luckily I live on the coast so around 10 every night like clockwork, a southerly blew in a cooled things down.

OK, last week it was 26 degrees during the day, and 15 degrees at night. Mind you, the weather here is really depensdant upon which way the wind blows - literally. If it's from the North West - it's really hot and dry as it comes off the desert. If it's from the east, really windy off the Pacific, and south, well -cool.

It's still dry though. even with the rain we've had this week, NSW is over 80% drought declared. The rail falls, but these Aussies have all the dams in the wrong places! The NSW Central Coast is on Level 3 water restrictions with the dams on 15% and still falling. So where's the dam? On top of the hills - literally. There was also a real stink about the water company dumping 2.5 million gallons of fresh drinking water so they could "do some maintenance on the tank". Too lazy to pump from one tank to another!

So, although you may all cold and wet, there's no way you'll die of thirst. Now, because of these weather patterns, not many Aussies can drive in the wet, let alone ride! When the sun's out, tons of bikes on the road. Whenit rains only the brave few are willing to dice with the crazy cagers who still drive at 140 on the freeway during a torrential downpour. BTW, no WOF's here either!
