    Rider Skills Bike training

Right this is going to sound like a plug and it is as I am happy to plug any good experience I have in life.
If there are any knockers take a look before you judge

    Riderskills advanced Rider Course
Here’s the short story, Ridden and owned bikes most of my life (yes even including a quick one or two ) never rated myself as a good rider but certainly a reasonable rider, who has read and learnt where possible and applied what I learnt to my riding - basically thought I was doing most of the right things but couldn’t work out why I wasn’t cooking like some of the riders I have seen/ridden with.
Compound that with being off bikes for two years and I came back to riding thinking that perhaps there was a certain something I was missing.
Seemed like a fair idea to try out one of the courses on offer and see if there was a quicker way to improve than working with what I had and getting much the same result as what I’ve got.
Now I am not going to get into the specifics of the course, but on a fine Friday I decided to give Riderskills Advanced Course a go ( www.riderskills.co.nz).
Here’s the brief outline of my experience, please excuse me if this is a bit abstract but it is a little hard to put right in words.
    1. defensive riding is about information
    2. information has the roll on effect of making one smoother, faster and more comfortable
    3. More comfort = more confidence = smoother faster riding
    4. did I mention smoother faster riding
    5. here’s the kicker SAFER (apologize to all 18 year olds with no kids for use of that word )

In short I received a lot of tools that I can continue to use and work on, improved my riding (like considerably) ,in the space of one day feel that my overall riding has improved 10 fold, ohh and I can tell the missus I am actually safer on the road (and believe it)
Seriously guys if you are asking any questions about your riding or figure there might be something left that can improve your ride, give Riderskills a go.
Philip is a top chap with a lot to offer

do they have anything similar to that in dunedin, I mean it's mainly for steering techniques, I think I've got counter steering pretty well sorted, I dunno, I guess I just want someone more experienced to tell me if i'm doing it right, I've pretty much taught myself everything so far...

    Dunedin

I am not sure if there is a similar instructor in Dunedin perhaps ask Riderskills if they know anybody.
However I will say that countersteering though incredibly important is very much the least on offer.
I was completely self taught up until this course
From my experience now I figure the holy grail is in reading the road properly and correct body placement
But hey I'm no special rider, would be interested in what other riders had to say

If you need a place to crash, give us yell eh? The christchurch people are pretty good about all that. Also, I wouldn't mind doing the course with someone too.

EDIT : There is a place up here which does rider training, I'll find a link

I got put up here when I lived in dunedin and came up for a CBTA course.
