    Who buys the Listener?

If you do, then the one carrying next weeks' tv programmes has an interesting piece about speeding in it. Joanne Black, one of their columnists who as far as I can ascertain isn't a biker or motoring enthusiast has a swipe at some utterances by a top cop about the whole speed issue. She makes a lot of sense and I find it quite heartening that someone who seems to be "an ordinary member of the public" feels compelled to make a statement.

I'd quote her but I'm at work and am away from home until Sunday but if anyone else wants to do it before I have the chance, feel welcome.

Safe riding over the weekend all.....

I haven't seen it yet, but I've often admired Joanne Black's work, she makes a lot of sense on many topics.

Often it's people who are not close to the issue who hit the nail on the head and see what really needs to be done. I'll look out for it.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I enjoy the Listener, it appeals to my inner leftie. She writes a good column too.
The cops don't realise that when columnists in general, Frank Haden excepted, start taking shots at them, there must be a large groundswell of disatisfaction among the public.

I must be getting really old if I am even considering buying the Listener, or is this maturity?

The only sure way to spot maturity is to count the number of cylinders between your legs.

Here's the article by Joanne Black. As I said in the first post, pretty compelling as it doesn't come from a motoring/motorcycling "enthusiast" with an implied bias.
