Seem legit to you? (Trademe Auction)

I noticed these 2 bikes on Sunday. Seems to good to be true. The seller makes no references to a buisness they're running, it's like they're importing these bikes from their backyard. And they've not said they've only just started to import bikes cause looking through their history the only bike they've sold was their old learner bike. Plus the dodgiest thing of all: "I can't reveal my suppliers. I import from around the world"

I'd like to stay open minded, if this person is legit my dream bike will be more believable. What do you think?

Pretty sure that CBR600RR colouring is from the USA market (coloring). If that helps.

The guy has said in both auctions that before you make any firm offers you should go and see the bike first. My guess is he's getting them from either ebay or yahoo auctions japan. It's easy for anyone to do, the bitch part is trying to get cheap and dependable shipping.

My only gripe would be that he should have the bike in the country before selling it to save any hassle.

Does sound very competative if its the real deal. I work with a lot of importers and its not unsual for them to be tight around revealing who their suppliers are. They typically want to protect their business by preventing their customers from going direct to the source, especailly where there are no exclusivity agreements in place. I notice the vendor does allow pick ups so wondering if a prepurchase inspection would be possible, once the Bikes arrived.

it says the R6 is in the country now. If you are keen then i'd have a prepurchase inspection arranged, or get someone you trust in Auckland to go take a look.

Well if it's all legit and above board I reckon this dude is getting great publicity. And if he can grow his business it will bring down the price of 2nd hand bikes too!

Seems like a fantastic deal to me! We're about ready to upgrade so the lower the cost to us, the better

Remember the downside is you're old bike will lose value too....unless he avoids 250's altogether.

    Dodgy characters abound on betrademe.
Was looking at a bike. Deal was it was in NZ, then went back to Greece, and would be re-imported once I sent the money to the owner who was... somewhere...

Why does he only like to import 05 or 06 models?

Semi dodgy. I'd somehow check out if its all legit etc before giving money.

Maybe there stolen? Late models so he can say that they havent been rego'd in another country? (i.e no way to prove they have been stolen)?

But still, looks like some nice deals!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

He mentions they will be WOFed so therefor the lights dipping in the wrong direction would have to be rectified
