    Question 06 gsxr600 owners

here is what i read on another website on the bikes dont know if it is for nz bikes or not but here it is
    some unrelated inside info

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, here is some info that is supposed to be a secret.

anyone here got a pal with an 06 gsxr 600?

if so give them this info.

a customer found that his gsxr had an oil leak. after some poking i found nothing, he packed up the bike and left. he came back a few weeks later with the same oil leak, i could find nothing wrong again.

a call to suzuki came up empty, tried calling again and got the big cheese at hq.

this is what i was told:

"on some of the gsxr bikes,we have found a posible defect in the casting of the head resulting in oil leaks."

    so what? right.

well, suzuki knows it is an issue but they will not openly admit to it and i was told by suzuki to keep this information secret from the customer.

a manufacturer has acctualy told the dealership to lie to the customer.

now this is not so bad except none of the replacement parts are available.
so my question is how to you lie to a customer when his bike is laid up for 3 months?

frankly i think it is bull**** and if you go and confront suzuki or any dealer they will deny any problem.

as it stands there is no recal or anything else published or even acknowledged

suzuki will pay for the parts and labor but the issue is no info how are you supposed to know?

so tell your gsxr buddies that they have a major problem and that they need to get it looked at.

i'm only telling you guys this cause it pisses my off that a major manufacturer would withhold info of a major problem and tell its dealers to lie to its customers just to save face.
this aint right after all it is OUR lives on the line not the corporate eggheads.

so pass this on to the right people maybe something good will come from whistleblowing.
Give it heaps buy a R1

Is this "fault" supposed to be found on the K6 750 as well? Totally agree with you on your comments with Suzuki treats this in the most unethical manner........

    Oh great.

Oh well, I don't see a leak. If it packs up, warranty job. That's that.

This is not a suzuki thing, about unethical behaviour, i have heard about same behavior with many other brands, across many different models.

And its something you expect espically if you buy first year models of total new bikes (aka it is very common for kawasakis in first year to have a problem/recall of some kind but after first year right as rain) You can test as much as you want in the real world alot different things happen, and these pop up.

What a load of Bollocks, some people are so gulllable as to what they believe!

Why no bikes doing this here or Australia or in the UK or in America?

Check all the Suzuki web sites

As a honda rider I tend to believe this of Suzuki.

I'm sure everyone has their own 'lemon' story.

As for 'ethical behaviour' - this can vary from person to person, and is not necessarily a fair representation of any company as a whole.

Sometimes you reap what you sew as well - the way you approach an issue often dictates the outcome.

This seems a pretty one sided comment Cajun. See above.

Nah deano its just what i believe, i will never buy a new model of any brand, i will wait for the 2nd year before buying it. I know suzukis have problems they all do. Its just stuff happens.

And well if you sell millions and millions of units, of something if its not something life threating your not gonna recall, unless you really have to
