150km and a visor full of bugs before sundown — it must be summer evening riding weather again!

Looking forward to seeing you soon, OG!

We bikers (and most other motorists) are known to complain about turkeys on the road sometimes, however, we don't usually mean it literally!

Still, let's take in the positives tonight: we rode some fantastic little roads again in good compamy, enjoyed a few yarns at the pub in good company and... the SATNR RIDES AGAIN!

(Yes, DidJit's a happy lil' chappy...)

I was wondering what the hell that was. Nice ride. That Shinko rear tyre of mine was a little slippery on the way back (wet roads). Had to switch to reserve at AK side of bombays and thought (I can make it home: Mt Roskill) started spluttering at mangere bridge, nursed it to the mobil in Onehunga, just coasted in.

    Caseye: no bagging the 400's.

I remember the Shinkoes on the Hyo requiring a little more attention in the wet. Dry cowshit on the roads appears to get rather slippery with a bit of drizzle as well — Suzi's back wheel got very slippy crossing that bridge on Mangatangi Road. And hey, now you know your tank range!

Leading the pack in the dark on the way home, came up over a rise to immediately discover a turkey in the middle of the lane facing us, head cocked, one eye staring at Suzi's headlight on full beam.

Adjusted my line and passed it (closely) on the left. The thing must've shit itself with 3 big, bright, noisy lights whizzing past it like that.

Gotta say, turkeys look pretty freaky at night.
But hey, all in all, it was a good ride.
