New fixed speed camera on Mahia Road (Manurewa)

Just to let KB know there is a new camera on Mahia Road, Manurewa.

It is between the Clendon roundabout and Sykes Road (where the new houses are built near Glenveagh Park Drive).

Naturally it is not by a school or the blind college or anywhere it could do any good, just on a fast, safe new piece of road where there have been no major accidents. Kerrching $$$.

This heading towards the Clendon roundabout? There's loads of impatient dickheads in japanese wrecks and mpvs' undertake along the shoulder in the mornings- some of them do a fair old clip along that shoulder!

The faster you go the bigger the mess! Speed kills! Road safety!

All in the same breath? Bullshit.

I am just going for my daily 7.5km walk and I will be going as fast as I can, if I go slow I will get cold and probably catch a chill.

I could respect the road rules if there was any integrity in their substance.

If there were no rules I don't think I would drive or ride my bike any different to what I do now.

I ride and drive to stay alive and to avoid causing any other road user any grief on my part.

Less rules more police and punishment that fits the crime, for everyone!

IE: No such thing as recidivist drink drivers. (over a dozen times? FFS)

Speed cameras are just $$$$ collectors, nothing else. John.

So that makes 2 quite close together... there's already one on Roscommon Road at Clendon.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

Sounds like a perfect recipient for a can of hairspray on the lens...
