    Installing a bicycle computer

Has anyone done it on an RG150?
I have a couple of ideas for mounting points for the computer part, but they both seem pretty difficult.

Probably not much help. I just need and idea of where to mount it. Kinda model-specific.

Thats the problem. The sucker won't fit anywhere, unless I drill holes in something and make a bracket.

Best get drilling or making then.
Double sided tape (thick stuff) could be useful too.
I had problems with when I mounted one on my previous bike. I hade to extend the lead.
I originally tried a wireless one bit the distance was too great/ the signal was too weak so went back to a corded one.
The transmitter is just a 'reed relay'.
As far as mounting the magnet on the rim. I took someones advise and made my own. Broke off a piece of harddrive magnet, put it in a peice of heat srink and used epoxy glue to keep in on the rim. Had to make a bracket to mount the pickup tho.

    Benifits were worth it tho.
    1. Accurate ride time.
    2. Accurate speedo ...as the other one wasnt!!
    3. Fasted speed .. often interesting
    4. Average speed

That fabbing such a simple bracket is such a challenge for you is sad indictment on this countries workshop lessons at intermediate school!

Dammit, if you were in Christchurch, I'd give you a hand to fab one up lickity split!

Is there a flat area on the top triple clamp you could use as I mounted my GPS on my VFR by simply using 3M Dual Lock (which is like much stronger grip than ordinary Velcro) to hold the car dash mount bracket I bought it with - no drilling or lasting damage to the bike at all. I presume this bike computer wouldn't be as heavy as a GPS unit. See this pic http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/at...2&d=1139645067 and you'll just see the black mount below the GPS - its an oval thing with a flat base, well that is just clicked on with the Dual Lock. I just have bits of Dual Lock stuck on the car dash and on the VFR triple clamp and can move the unit between vehicles. On the dirt bikes I use a different bracket, basically a pushbike mount that clamps onto the handlebar crossbrace, but thje road bikes don't have bars like that.
    Cheers
