    Insurance Providers

Having come back to bikes after a long time away, I'm looking to insure my (almost vintage) GSX 550 for at least third party. Can anyone recommend whom are good bike insurers? I've had quotes from a few, they range from excesses of $100 - $400 and premiums from $150 upwards (and upwards). I realise some insurers don't have high insurance ratings and would appreciate any comments on the good, the bad and the down right ugly ones! thanks heaps.

I recommend KiwiBike. Donna is great. She insured me, a learner for full party on my bike for $180pa on a $1000 bike. This may seem alot but consider my family insurnace provider which we got house, contents and car wouldn't even give me third party it was bloody good. They even wrote a nice message on a instruction letter

Thanks everyone for your responses. I did put insurance in the "search' box but it only came up with an old thread, never mind. Thanks also Tim on the 0800number but I got an even better offer from Kiwibike (even better than what my local Suzuki dealer could offer) for full cover for $100 so I'm off to sign up tomorrow.

Just got my bike insured for 3rd party today through AMI $ 45 for the year, I didn't even bother to ask what the excess would, I guess I will find out when the paper work turns up.
