    First spill; new bike needed

Had my first near death experience a couple of weeks ago, a guy in a bloody great van coming towards me decided to pull a right turn across my path into a side street, without looking. All I can say is I needed a new pair of pants, and not just because they got ripped! I did feel a little bit like superman at first though, until gravity kicked in and brought me back to earth. No broken bones luckily but I felt like I'd gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson. Still, I was a lot luckier that some so I'm not complaining but the GN crumpled like an accordian and wont be seeing any more action, so consequently I need a new 250. I wanna spend about $2000 so if anyone's got anything then give me a shout.

the bike hit the van and I went over it, I still can't believe the dude didn't see me, I think he did it on purpose haha. Insurance paid up was gonna cost $3000 to fix an 89 GN so no surprises they paid me out. Took 2 days for the whole process I recomend AMI they're bloody good. Just a shame they don't do helmet and gear cover and I don't have contents insurance. My jacket and helmet are sweet though, didn't hit my head.

maybe, I'm gonna go get my restricted as soon as I have a bike, then three months to my full so I just need something to get me through for a few months. I'm 190cm and 90kg though so I don't wanna look like a clown on a minibike

Glad to hear you made it though in one piece.
Sorry about your bike, but you'll get another one in no time.

Same shit happened to me 3 weeks after I started riding - I didn't hit the van though - I swerved across the front of the van and low-sided down the street for a while.

I had 3rd party ins - the other driver had fuck all insurance and I wasn't covered for being in an accident with an uninsured driver.

I have home contents insurance though so I got replacement kit for all the stuff that got wrecked...I did bang my head on the deck so new lid was mandatory.
