Not the footage you want to get.

Finally tested my leathers today, and they did their job, as did my helmet, boots, back protector and glove. Went out for a play at Ruapuna and within 8 minutes on the track managed to highside myself out of turn 1, sending both me and the bike down the track. Too much throttle is the only excuse, and that's entirely my fault. I felt the back spin up and immediately thought to keep it open, but she came around quick and hard and I bottled it and closed the throttle. For a split second I thought I had it but ha ha no way! Not sure of my speed, maybe 120-130. I actually was carrying less corner speed then usual as there were a few wet patches on the track, and the lower speed probably worked against me.

Anyway I'm okay, my leathers, glove, and helmet are destroyed however. No problem there, I didn't buy them to look good, I bouight them to save my arse. I'm glad I had my back protector on as I hit hard on my back, and on the left side which is my paralysed arm side, meaning less muscle and strength in that area. I've got a few bruises coming I do believe, I can feel them working through.

The bike is not looking too good. I'm not worried about posting about it here, because I'm not claiming insurance. The right side is mint, factory condition. The left took the brunt of it, with damage to the peg and lever, clipon, mirror, indicator and fairings, engine cover, crash bobbin, tank and the subframe cracked at the bolt. So there's some work ahead of me. We haven't fully assesed it yet, so I'll make my decision from there as to what do I do with. My first thoughts are to get it back on the road as soon as possible minted up.

And I got it on vid! Yes you can watch my pain too.

Ouch! That looks like it would hurt. Shame to hear about the bike, but good to hear that you're ok, 'cause that's what really matters.

Shame to hear you came off OAB. Of course we will all say...atleast you are Ok. But after you get over the shock and sores the financial bummer sets in. Hope it's not too costly and best of luck fixing her up.
Oh yeah. How the hell do you ride with one arm and hold a camera? No wonder you crashed (joking) Super talented dude.
I watched the vid. It seems out of sequence. You go into a bend, hear power coming on as you are exiting then the wiggle, picture all blurred/shakey as you crash. Then it cuts to you up and riding again? then again it seems you crash a second time. Double bummer.
    All the best anyways.

    sorry to hear that OAB.
at least you know what went wrong and aren't hurt too badly. Seems to be a lot of crashes lately (or maybe they just stand out to me since I had one a couple weeks ago as well...?)

Bummer OAB! Just goes to show that even the bloody good ones get it wrong sometimes huh? (I don't feel so bad now)
Here's hoping that the repairs are easy and cheap, and that your bruising is over soon, good luck mate.

Thanks guys, pain is setting in a bit now but I'll keep active and go around to imdying's house later and help with the disassembly. Bike can be fixed, gear can be replaced, and I'm in one piece so it's all good. I'm not bummed out or anything, to be perfectly honest I don't mark this as being a bad day. The crash wasn't scary or anything, closer to fun actually. (What I mean by that is I knew what was happening, I tried to react, but it beat me. It was like a battle). I felt the back spin up and knew to keep it open (well back it off a little maybe but I ain't that good!) but she spun up quick, and like I said I actually thought I might've made it, but she bite hard for what felt like the second time and spat me off. Landed on my head and back and slid for a bit, fully aware of what was happening when I must have got flipped over a couple of times. The bike must've been inverted at some stage, but with the nose in the air as there are heavy friction marks on top of the rear cowling but no damage to the screen, lights, instruments etc.

My first crash in 8 years so not too bad. I was always a little concerned at how I would fair in another off, especially my arm, so this answered that question. It was an experience more so than just crashing.
