The 'Blade is too much power for me, so I'm thinking of going to something that will suit my lil' cojones better.
Seen an FXR150 for sale with about 60,000 kms on it...
Can anyone please give a view as to how well they handle the big kms in general, and any specific problems that pop up on these bikes?
It's a 2000 model.

I have a 2000 FXR that I bought at 20000km that is on 40000Km now.
I have had to do the fork seals, regular oil changes, the horn being a little screwy, new rear tires and that is it. Fairly standard bike stuff. i have done all of the work myself and it is easy to work on.
Its a good bike overall, great for in town and getting around. I can't tell you what another 20000km will do but i have had no problems and one of my mates has thrashed his to death with no maintence and it is still fine.

The horn on my bike had problems too, the rotation of the front wheel pulled on the wires. I had them extended and rotated the horn so they weren't pulled side to side but rather drawn towards and pulled away ... if you get what I mean.
I've only got 22 on the clock so don't have much advice. I haven't heard of many fxr's with those kind of K's.
I got mine for 1600 with 14k on the clock so I would think about holding out for something a little less used. They are more expensive now because of supply/demand, I wouldn't want to pay more than $1100 for something that old.
L-Plate Rider
I had one last year, with 60,000 on the clock, it was a good bike for what it was. Did have issues with the carb leaking on me, it would drip from the overflow drain on the bottom of the bowl. My guess would be a combination of the needle valve and tap leaking as the problem. I also noticed the speedo was inaccurate, it read 10kph faster.
On the plus side I had a after market exhaust and it sounded very nice, I also had a KK150, and found that to be quicker with equally good handling.

Nah bro, the 60k is for real. I guess if it had been serviced it should be ok...are singles more or less reliable, in general, than multis?

Well my fxr has just clicked over 23k and apart from the obvious ie sprockets/chain the only thing that i "have" to replace is the front fork seals havent had any issues with the engine yet i would imagine if the bike is properly matained there shouldn't be to many issues, by chance is it the one on TM at the moment?

My FXR has 38000km on the clock, it has been run without fuck all oil in and then filled till it was coming out the filler (previous owner), since I bought it I have thrashed the living shit in bucket racing for a season and still shows no sign of shitting itself

The fact that it has less moving parts probably sujests a single would be more reliable. Even if it's not, heaps easier to work on anyway.
If you wheelie them heaps, I know the clutch can shit itself quickish though.
