Hey dover, what setup have you got to alert you? Do you have H.A.R.D kit or something? I want to setup my V1 for my bike but dont want to have to pay another $300 just to know when its going off.
    Has anyone seen my baffles?

I've just got it slapped on my screen with a earpiece in my helmet, the earpiece is seriously loud at full crank and you instantly shit yourself and squeeze the brakes (I do anyway!).

I can't justify 300 bucks for a HARD on kit and from all of my research it would appear that an audio alert instigates a quicker reaction than a visual. Also the battery thing and having to switch shit off all the time would not work for me, I hate batteries and the fuckers would always be flat!!

Hey SWOOP, when you programme your detector what mode have you got it set on before you enter the setup??? Ie Highway, Autoscan or City?

It's a while since I did it. It is always on autoscan, never have to change it for "city". I presume it was on Autoscan when I switched the bands off...?

I went through the RTFM procedure to programe it.

My earpiece works fine too except that I've accidentally unplugged myself without noticing on a couple of occasions which is not good. I'm remedying the problem this month as Mrs B is buying me a screamer (no jokes, I've heard them already ) for my birthday. See www.motorcycleradar.com. I bought my detector mount from them and their service is great. A mate has the screamer and it's very effective, even when you're pressing on a bit.

    Good man

It must have something to do with the fact it is going onto a gsxr and is simply scared shitless....

My "NZ" manual say leave it on Highway, turn off X, K and Ku band. ARe you programming it on the bike, or in the car using the cigar lighter (I don't smoke cigarettes). I found I couldn't program it without the smartarse cable.

You can turn the volume down so you don;t go deaf in one ear.

I was doing it in the car last night when I went out to get some food for my stinky puppy.

It was just when I pulled in to Fraudtown the doors set off K band and I had disabled it the day before.

I have been using it on autoscan. Maybe I need a good run up 16 without my plate again to really test whether it's working or not.

I would have thought that this function was perfect for you, going off at Foodtown, Mobil, BP and the likes. Just think of it as "pie alert" yah tubby bastard.

    Arrow Hey dover.

I got another brand for the van and did not like the suction cups that was attached to the mounting bracket either. I went into spotlight and got some double sided dots and its well stuck to the dash. I don't know if you can do it on the gixxer, but its worth a though.

You've got it stuck to the screen with suckers?
Have you saved up for another one yet? You'll need to.

It's okay Lou, Dover's an engineer. Just not a very good one.
