    Bel RX65pro

Anybody else using one of these?

I picked one up on Saturday and hard wired it to the king of bikes.

It's saved me tickets already. I'm riding really slowly cos I don't trust thos fucken rubber suckers to hold it on and I don't really want to lose 500 notes worth of fine canadian electrickery down the motorway.

But, my question to other owners is - when you programme the fucker and switch K band off does it stay off? All my other settings are saved but I always seem to know when I'm passing an automatic door, and the bastard thing is quite deafening even at the lowest volume. Great when the pigs are about but not so flash when old ethel is coming out of pak'n'save.

got bell x50 mounted on a bracket that mounts on the clip-on.good position not in the way,can get these from radar-direct in glendowie.went down to rotovegas for the weekend, nice change to ride without getting paranoid about plod all the time, still dosen't stop you getting soaked when it pisses down all the way home though
if you can't fix it with duck tape, you haven't used enough

Psshh - obviously not going fast enough then. Word is once you get over 220 the rain simply blows off before it can soak into your gear

Doors and suchlike are X Band, so you want to disable that too and you won't be deafened any more. I'm pretty sure that K band was the old mobile microwave radar band used by the police many moons ago but think they are long out of service.

Yeah, I can switch it off and it will not pick up K band but if I go into the settings again then K band has defaulted to on??

I think it switches on again if I flick between city/highway and autoscan modes too.

All other settings remain saved, eg display type, fast power on, volume and all other band settings. Bizarre.

What firmware version have you got? Mine is 6.1
