    Well done wee yin!

I'll be doing that test at the beginning of November myself having been in the saddle for 4 and a half months already.

What sort of stuff do they hit you with - is it a straigtforward route or are there some curveballs to watch out for? Bearing in mind that I'll be doing my test in the same area as you.

    cheers,

    Jamie

It was really straight forward aye...
Had a walkie talkie thing in my jacket with an earpiece to hear directions and he just follows behind in the car saying 'left/right/straight ahead/stop' kinda thing...
I did mine from the testing place on Carbine Rd... basically went down Carbine Rd... Right onto Panama Rd... First left after the bridge... around a few side st's down there... did a U turn... stopped on hill for a hillstart... then out onto Atkinson Ave... then onto Albert St... up to Princes St, onto the southern motorway (northbound) and off again at Mt Wellington. Left onto Mt Wellington Highway first left then ya back at the testing station.

There was nothing that I picked up on that could be described as a 'curveball'...

Oh and when he said that we'd be going on the motorway... I asked 'Will you fail me if I go over 70kph then?' and he said 'oh...ummm... go at a speed you feel comfortable at' ... then I kinda just looked at him like... ah...ok... he saw my look... n said.. 'cruise at around the 80mark'. LOL (He did end up about 3 cars behind me at one stage... but were still in radio contact)

When riding the other bits was instructed to stay between 45-50kph... You'll have no worries McJim

Congratulations. Don't forget to do the defensive driving, and it'll be just 12 months to go.
