Better to keep quiet and have people think you're stupid than open your mouth and prove it!
they don't the DVLA in swansea take your NZ licence and in return give you a uk licence ie you surrender your licence in the UK
pretty good deal as the uk licence is valid for life and the NZ licence has to be renewed every four years
as for the plonker Bike coresspondent, these wankers tear all over europe at high speed and write up about their exploits in the magazine press
trouble is when joe public goes over for a ride the plods are waiting and they have ruined it for the rest of us.
I see ya all been reading the halfwits book of road rules again.
when u get disqualified from driving the nice judge will tell you "you are disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for a period of ______"
holding a licence gives you the right to drive. You should surrender your licence when u get disqualified or suspended or this is another charge you can be pinged with. Only has a $500 max fine from memory
so when u Jet of to Oz and come back with your ozzie licence and get stopped and if the cop should do a check. Your vehicle will get impounded and u will get 6 months more disqualification at the end of the one you are serving if this is your 1st or 2nd offence or 1 year dizq if its your third or subsequent offence.
The other great thing u forget about is that if u get 2 traffic convitions with-in 4 years that have a sentence of imprisonment. Dangerous type, drink driving, disq driving, care less injury, under the sentencing act you car will be confiscated and sold and the proceeds go to the consolidated fund.

The UK have these agreements with other commonweath countries but there's always loopholes - just don't run anyone over cus they will probably look harder at your license!!![]()
How can the half dozen Bike test riders/journalists ruin it for the rest of us? they would be spread pretty thin over Europe and England. Brits have been using Europe as a safe haven for speeding for years. I guess that will change if they ever do a reciprical arrangement with the EU on demerits or bans.
I love the smell of twin V16's in the morning..
