That girl has some serious guts and self-certainty. Total BIG UPS to her.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

I have always worn full gear. Regarding ACC in New Zealand - the dumb arses pay for some things and not others but in my opinion (and I have been riding 25 years) if you fall off a motorcycle and are not wearing protective, gloves, footwear and at least full trou and a sturdy jacket (helmets a given) - ie there is not any exposed skin, then you should not get paid a bloody cent of my taxes in ACC.

Ditto some drunken arse or fool without a seat-belt in a car.

As for open face helmets - the 'open face' part applies to your chin on impact.

I guess she learned her lesson and hopefully sued the shit of Shaun.

    roadrash

I read this and was utterly shocked... just a bit of an eye opener for any of you who ride without the proper gear (even pillions!!) please take a bit of time to read, as this is something we should all be aware of!

Ouch! And I thought my kidney stone was painful. Inspirational story.

Heh reminds me of the american lass living with me earlier this year who wanted to go pillion to the beach with me, but wanted to wear jandles and a skirt to do so.

Didn't like the fact I told her she was either wearing gear or bussing, but I won out in the end. If I had that link I would've showed it to her. Not having her mother tear a strip off me if she came a cropper on the back of my bike.

I'd send her that link now if i was on speaking terms haha.

And even if it was a repost??

If this helps one pillon to not get scarred for life it is worth it. So some discretion re reds might be in place??

And I had never seen this before and if not reposted I would probably never have seen it...

and i think the next BIG purchase I make is some of my own gear!! *shudders* i know how bad carpet burn of the knees is... i dont want roadrash if i suddenly fly off the bike! *the last time i pillioned i came close several times due to huge gear that i borrowed (couldnt feel how tight to hold on!)*
