They're shit and inaccurate as they work on the electrical resistance of fat vs muscle based on water content.

As the alcohol % in my body is so high they'd be even less accurate.

The most accurate way to measure body fat is with the calipers and skin fold test. It's surprising because even when I shed about 15kg and built up a load more muscle when playing rugby I only went from 17% to 14%.

    I was gutted.

I looked at him and thought "ain't no way he got like that by himself" - he couldn't even move out of the bed for god's sake! His wife, sister and other people must have been feeding him for years. He could stand when he met his wife (they showed the god-awful wedding photo) so he obviously got heavier since then and was confined to bed.

When I heard him in hospital saying he didn't like the food and he wanted hamburgers, I thought "die you fat prick, die" - whoops, he did!

And as for the wife, shit, I didn't know David Lange had a twin sister! And the guy's sister - if that ain't retarded, I don't know what is.

I was absolutely disgusted watching that, there's big and there's fat -and then there is morbidly obese.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

    You've just got fat skin...

I've gone from 105kg down to 88kg since getting the bike - this is coz it's a 250 and was slow as fuck with a fat bastard sitting on it...I'm about 6 foot which is 1 metre something in metric I'm told.

That's because Rugby is a stupid sport and has a dumbing down of ones intelligence. Scientific research has proven that over time, it turns brain matter into fat. Just keep spending time with me. I can reverse this for you.

You have been told correctly. 6 feet is exactly 1 metre something.

Playing rugby badly however can greatly increase you intelligence. Look at the Scotland squads of the 80's and 90's - mainly Doctors and Lawyers.

Dover is a fine example of why you should never allow engineers to play rugby.

Incorrect Mr Dover, the most direct and accurate way to measue body composition is to disect someones body into all the fat, skin, muscle etc.... but its highly inconvenient.

Next is all indirect testing methods such as measuring your body underwater using a machine worth $$$$$ or using a bodpod and other things like that.

Then further down the scale is skinfolds, its an estimate of an estimate but yes it is more accurate than the machine Finn mentions.

I have a set of skinfold calipers which I use on my clients if you want me to measure you up?.

Yep bang on, these are used in prodominantly larger gyms where they try to get the testing done on clients quickly as they want to put more and more new clients through the prescreen and testing. Not very accurate but easy and fast to use.

Not surprising mate, the majority of your training would have been more focussed on anaerobic training where the body doesn't use fat as a fuel.
