Certainly if it was an ongoing issue that the council had been informed of and they have done nothing to rectify the situation then they are not partially responsible/ why not try for them to pay?

So Avon will be wanting to reconsider the endorsement for the Vipers then?

Anyway, apart from the "cosmetic" damage to the Kawasaki, how's the Jim?

Buggeration. At least the council's putting the loose gravel at an intersection whwre you have to go slow rather than in the middle of a sweeping corner on the motorway

...which reminds me...I have to call Franklin council about some gravel out Awhitu way....about an inch deep through a tight chicane

    Tsk tsk tsk.

Should have bought Matt's old MV matey. The bike must have overheard you talking about it and got snarkey.

I can just imagine the conversation in the Jim2 household.

Still, at least the kids would have enjoyed the story.

    Hope its sorted soon.

Alex, really. You ride to the conditions mate.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Err, Fuck Off.

The conversation was't be anything like you imagine, and while you've got me wound up, I WAS riding to the conditions. It's called braking for an intersection and getting caught out by two surface changes while checking for traffic.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's a write off. Too many body panels damaged for it to be less than 5k. The paint is difficult to match thanks to the pearl in it, so it will probably mean new body parts.

    But thanks for the thought

Carefully trolled up to the intersection, braking gently and the bike immediately lay down on its side as I went over the surface change and into a little bit of loose chip. I was looking at the approaching traffic, not the road surface, so Hobson's choice really.

    Idiot.

Do not say to much more on this board about this crash mate

I am assuming there were no warning signs as to the loose gravel on the road?

No sign to the camber change on the road?

Paul has a name of person of contact he talked to about this?

Well then, it is there responsibility to repair our roads to a safe standard, which this clearly is not! They to have public liabillity insurance the same as any buisness: banana:

Go hard, and don't give up on it!
