My point is that too many times people blame road conditions for their off.

Jim had quite clearly pointed out that he was concentrating further up the road, and the road surface change caught him out. An easy thing to happen.

But blaming it on the local council is bollocks. Roading around Raumati has always been crap.

And Jim knows I'm just winding him up
I know you are winding him up but.....

The council does deserve some blame here. The only way to get these people to lift their bloody game is to get on their friggin case. The road surface there is a joke and was clearly identified to them not just by me, but by my neighbours as well as being dangerous. It is settling down a little now (after a year) but it was left in a disgusting mess by the contractor and was very dangerous for a long time. I understand things have to be paid for but when someone clearly predicts exactly what is going to happen to the council and they fail to act I think they do have a responsibility.

No one can expect a suburban street to be billiard table smooth and it IS in the back of even raumati but - it was genuinely a crap job!

Sorry to hear the bad news Jim - gutted for you because I know you love that bike and thought you had finally found your perfect soulmate (in the biking sense). Hope you can get it back to as-new condition.
