To make money you gotta spend money, goes the old saying. But even better is yutilising the skill set you have and increasing your worth by that means.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Don't discount Trade Me for turning crap into cash - I've quite over $1500 worth of unused junk in the past five weeks! Okay, a couple of things were worth a few hundred bucks (old digital camera and flash), but every $5 for a book you've read or $10 for a pair of jeans you no longer wear soon adds up.

But why rush? You'll appreciate the bike more if you have to do some hard graft to afford it - and you're more likely to take better care of it and not want to wreck it.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

    youth and money

I think you are starting the whole thing up from the wrong end, sort of from the "arse end".

Young folks these days are suffering from the idea that they have to have everything NOW (or in six weeks)

Why not look it it from this Way: You allready have got a bike, so whatever it is, you don't actually NEED another one.
Don't expect other peoples Input all the time, especially not the parents one. Just try to be happy with what you got in the moment and start putting penis aside by not buying a lot of crapp that you think you MUST have.
After a year or two you will have a decent whack of money put aside and then you can go shopping for a decent bike.

THERE WILL BE BIKES FOR SALE IN 2 YEARS FROM NOW.
    of that I am sure.

Life does not finish at 16 for most people it only just kicks off then so try to take a more "long-term approach" to it.

Kindest regards and all the best.
From an old fart (of course)

    Lifes a funny thing.
You either have time and no money and when you have money you have no time.
Then you get what you really want so bad and after a couple of weeks/months, you want something else. It's the treadmill of life.

There's heaps of people everywhere wanting something and haven't got the money to get what they want. Some work their guts out doing all sorts of stuff to get what they are after and others wait for it to happen or hope for a leprachaun to leap out of the bushes and grant them a wish.

When I was young, education came first. You couldn't get good grades and work too many hours for mulla in a week. So what you wanted just had to wait and you had to make do with what you had. In my case it was a pair of feet for a few years and buses.

I managed to get a few bikes before I got married. Then had to sell my bike to cover the deposit on a house. Sold a guitar to buy a second hand lawnmower, had no stereo and a black and white borrowed TV for ages.

Life doesn't always turn up the right cards to win the hand when you want.

As has been said. You are still young and more power means more speed and if you were like me, owning a motorcycle of nay power is going to become expensive, insurance or not. I wrote two of them off before I was 19.

It's your call but I bet in another year you will want a bigger better bike and you will be at this point again...... and again.... and life goes on.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Seconded. I could point you in the direction of a couple of small buisnesses that need them depending on your skills. Save the boss doing it.

And you know this, how? Got your sister working for you? Or your mother?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I don't have any url's of previous work yet. Never been able to afford the hosting or crap and they were all just for fun.

Skills aren't the greatest. I can't do shopping carts so most businesses are out of the question.

If anyone wants me to make a quick sample website for them, let me know and I'll whip one up. Just give me some info on what you want.

I just cut a cheque for nearly four grand ($3400 plus GST) for a bloody website that I have to provide content for. Get into it my son, its the new fucking gold rush. Poor suckers like me come along every day.

Happy to host off my cable modem if you need a starting point.

    Most businesses need:

1, This is who we are.
2, This is what we do.
3, This is how to get here.
4, This is how to contact us.

And if you can do a decent job would be happy to stump up enough cash to make the hosting fees seem irrelevantly small. Carts are a pain in the arse. Credit cards are a fucking pain in the arse.

Yeah, But for my websites I'd probably feel bad taking more than $100 depending on how good it was. So if anyone wants a basic website, this could be your best opportunity. You can get it hosted for free (probably with ads) and a .co.nr domain for free. I'll set it all up, and will be able to update contents for a small fee. I can even set up a forum for it. Not as sophisticated as KiwiBiker, but still does the basic point of posting!
