I hear where you're coming from, but the common link would be the licence of the motorcycle, would we all be prepared to pay a little extra on top of our annual fee, and if so would a corporate be prepared to pick up and run with it from an underwriting point of view, accident insurance on top of ACC?

There may be a thread in there somewhere if a corporate was prepared to come onboard at KB.

    Heads Up and Enjoy

I wasn't talking about commercial insurance, I was directing these questions toward mafu1's plan.

In the end what he is suggesting is insurance except instead of paying a premium to the ins co's we have to bear the risk that someone could walk off with it.

better idea to go with the insurance co's imo.

Its called a Friendly society. Used to be common. Some of the bike clubs in the UK pre WW2 had such schemes. And bicycle clubs in the late 19th century, it was common . Also some magazines ran similar schemes for the readership pre WW2. Not common now, there are other ways of doing things.

We could get Donna Awtere to look after it :P
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
