    Honda cx 400

Can any one tell me where I can find a road test on the above? Have seen a few advertised and they look just great to a biker of my generation.

Hi Bonez, thanks for the link, should keep me reading for a while.Dont know very much about CX's,just saw it and wanted one.{no accounting for taste is there,I even owned a Piatti scooter once!now that is ugly, but it would be worth a smallfortune now if I still had it.}The CX I saw advertised is said to be a 400,series OE,1985.I am trying to convince myself that I cant afford it,I dont need it,and It would be a disaster, but I still want one!Mind you after being without a bike for over 45 years I want to own every one that I see!

I understand. Unsure what the OE stands for. Sounds more like the begining of an engine number. Could be a Euro model. I guess the only way to find out is have a gander and a test ride. CXs are very underated bikes. Which is good because they usually are quite cheap compared with more modern bikes of similar "perforformance". They can grow on you too, from what I've heard. Next thing you know you could have a shed full of the buggers.

    I start a thread here about my 500- http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ighlight=cx400

But any cx/gl info is welcome.

The 400 is the same as a 500, but with less power. Now you just need to find a 500 Euro test... (Google is your friend!!)

Be warned - the 400 is a Jap domestic model, and is now quite old. That means some parts (like piston rings, apparently) do not exist any more.
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.

Some one called? 85 will be a Eurosport, I dont have a write up on this bike but having owned one (500) heres my thoughts.
Great tourer ride for hours on this bike some had camchain probs were the adjuster wouldnt use all its adjustment, other than that they handle well brake well the 500 hauls arse well, the prolink often needs greasing (jack up pull apart) I'd say a good step up from a 250 but be prepaired to drop it on the spot as they are heavy.
Engines are bullet proof so work on pistons etc shouldnt be needed, try and find a 500 if you can and you will enjoy for a long time.
    A 650 is also available
