Auckland to Russell

Im looking at doing a run frm Auckland to Russell in a couple of weeks and am wondering about road conditions.

Has any one done this run recently?

Any gravel or roadworks at the moment?

How long to get this trip done?

Old Russel Road from just after the Oakura (sp??) school has some shitty patches of gravel but not too bad. Just keep your eyes peeled and don't ignore the signage.
