I wondered what that white stuff was riding home last night in Wellington. Snow. Who would have thought it?
Funny how it settles on your screen and visor, and doesn't sting like hail. Makes you feel pretty wet and cold as well.

Yup,...I caught it,......on the bus....![]()
I miss riding, even if it's in snow.
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
I was sitting outside Motorad when it started, couldn't believe it! Snow in October - and in Wellington - crazy!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
It's a nuisance, it is.
I rode in falling snow twice when I lived in Christchurch, and never resolved the issue of whether to ride with my visor down (snow builds up on it, visor fogs up) or up (helmet slowly fills with snow). Against that, there's the advantage that all traffic slows to a crawl, so you can just ride past everything in the slush in the middle of the road.![]()
Don't seem to have encountered the same problem since I moved northwards.
I hate fog though - similar problem to snow, except it doesn't build up in the helmet: just turns to dripping eyebrows and facefungus instead.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
Riding in snow is fun but I seriously need to upgrade my wet weather gear. If I'd left work 10 minutes earlier or later I'd have got home dry.
