That can cost you bigtime. Guy down this way was convicted and fined $700 for saying 'Mickey Mouse - Disneyland' into the breath checker when asked to state his name and address.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

And how did Mickey feel about that?

We regularly get stopped at the weighbridge by the Police cadets learning how to do a breath test road block thing. I was riding the Moto Guzzi home from work and I got a young, good lookin' lady constable. I flipped up the visor and asked her if i should remove my helmet? She told me she was not sure 'cos it was her first time with a motorcycle. I told her it was my first time too but that I would be gentle with her... She cracked up but the supervising officer didn't seem to think it was all that funny...

Naturally I was sober and allowed on my way after a very thourough wof, rego, license check.... ;-)

Usually NOT a good time to be a smartarse but the 'stupid' filter did not slam down in time...

I said "John Fitzgerald Kennedy" at a checkpoint once... Only had a couple of beers and knew I was safe. The copper had a chuckle as well! Good to see some still have a sense of humour!

I'm assuming that the cop was speeding to catch up with him, don't they have to have their lights on when breaking the speed limit?

The cop might of thought you were doing a "Lassie" thing - you know, tooting your horn to get him to follow you to where little Timmy was treed by a nasty mountain lion or something....

With respect - he was in hot pursuit of a 125... speeding was probably optional.

And the moral of this story: If you grab your nuts in public, leave your horn alone.

Unless you got the dosh for an expensive laywer being cheeky is not the way to go. Cops can detain you on the side of the road for as long as it takes for them to perform their duty. No longer. The Land Transport Act gives a time reference on this. I'll see if I can find it.
