guess thats why im not in sales!
Nah....that's simply a natural reaction by most when approached by a salesman/woman.

I never get sick of it, I simply offer them tea/coffee while they take a no pressure perv.

Exactly, as I keep telling my salespeople, no one is going to walk in here with their wallet in hand pleading you to take their money off of them, even if the vehicle is the exact one they have been looking for and know themselves that regardless of what they pay they are leaving with that vehicle. Except the 1%, which are affectionatly known as 'plums'.

Just walk in dressed to ride with your helmet under your arm and ask 'whats available to test ride boys under $k ?' they will fall over you.

Having spent a lot of time (and a goodly portion of my income) at red baron I have two observations to make.
    1. a lot of women go in there who make out like they are gonna buy, only to turn out that they neither have the money or the commitment. Many don't have a license. Most visits they can be spotted.

    2. Many complain of not being taken seriously when they have given no reason to be taken seriously.

In my opinion the same could be said of any bike shop.
    You get no sympathy unless:
    - You arrive at the bike shop in correct uniform.
E.G. show you are serious by having your own safety gear.
I have seen many a woman ignored in a bike shop because she is wearing a skirt, but then I have seen men in shorts ignored for a woman in leather.

You want instant attention? Put a leg over the bike you want to buy.
Shy? test out the control action
Still not getting any attention approach the nearest available salesman.

They may well be working, or just letting you get comfortable before they approach..

Having been in car sales most vehicle sales people allow a woman to browse before approaching to allow her to feel less intimidated.
I lost a lot of commisions because I took women to seriously.

Before you all start flaming think about two things-
1 they work on commision so go for the greatest odds, odds are men are easier to talk into buying a vehicle.
2 sales is about eliminating the no's, there are more no's a woman can give than a man can.

    Damn straight!

Fuck, I consider myself lucky doing what I do....I get paid to stand around talking about motorcycles all day. But it's far more satisfying to find the right bike, and have them come back time and time again! I believe that's what differentiates us from car salesmen/women. Most of them couldn't give a toss what car they sell you!

    Ain't that the truth.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I get plenty of attention every visit to Red Barons, but then I have spent 50+k in the last 4.5 years.

They know I will haggle but that if the deal is right I will buy.

    Happens accross the ditch too...
Wife has been looking for a bike too, until I went in with her she got absolutely no response!

Seems like these guys in Darwin do not really have a comission structure, they can't be bothered with trying to make a sale!

Good luck in your search RR

Colemans know, because they were friendly and helpful as soon as she walked in the door.

Haldanes also know because they took the trouble to ask if they could help.

Sadly Mt Eden Motorcycles, AMPS, Holeshot and Cyclespot didn't make any effort at all - even when she stood by bikes of interest and looked around for a salesman. Actually I'll let Mt Eden off because everytime I go in there they are busy and they have been helpful in the past.

If any bike shops are genuinely interested in getting sales, perhaps you would be so kind as to get off your butts and come and talk to me when I've made the effort to come in.

Botany Honda - you'll be getting a visit from me tomorrow, and Hamilton shops will be seeing me either on saturday or monday. Please try to show some interest.
hmm skidmark works at honda botany, ill be going there to see about my back tyre to my 250cc and hopefully test ride some bikes hehe, they've been pretty good so far, hope you get the same good service too
