Like those good cop fullas who didn't mind me lane splitting past them on the motorway tuesday evening. I may "technically" have been in the right but they could equally have decided to be arses. Thanks chaps.

Tip - if you see 2 or more bikes behaving themselves in sloooow traffic ahead they probably are scared of splitting past the cops.....

    Mouth

Like I said in my post, "fair enough, I was speeding".
What I took offence to was him pretending it was in everyone's interest for him to be hiding at the bottom of a hill, halfway around a blind corner, dishing out tickets to people who have not quite braked enough after coming down a hill. If he moved another 50metres on over the brow of the next hill, I doubt he would have picked anybody up, because like me they would have coasted back to 50 up the rise before they got to him.
Very opportunistic on his part for gathering revenue and fulfilling his job requirements as such. Given the lack of crosses on the 200metres of road where I was exceeding the limit, I doubt anybody has ever died there. So its not like he is policing a known black spot, or keeping the road toll down in anyway.
Its not like I was coming around the corner at 71 and giving it some stick.
I was coasting down a hill, obviously applying the brakes a bit gently. My error.
But just in case I get lucky, before I pay the fine, I will insist on seeing a copy of the certificate of accuracy of the microwave radar, and also the officers certificate of competency on that piece of equipment.
If I get lucky and can save my ass on a technicality it means $170 and my licence remain in my possession.
