I'm one of the worlds best riders. I can wheelie, I can stoppie, I can stunt, hell I can get my shoulder down. I could keep up with Rossie if I wanted to race.

Then I go from bed to bike and somehow it all turns to crap.

Oops..sorry to offend the TRX owners out there.. The beemer is just a yellow TRX with more weight and less power.

The beemer's got more power than a standard TRX.

    Re-activate ! Correct price is $17k odd

I had a squiz at the S and ST models of the F800 at Motorad and must say BMW are getting their act together with the styling. Comfy to sit on and gentle on the eyes. Well laid out dash and bars in just the right place. Could enjoy touring on one of these. Getting very good reviews in the mags for it's handling and versatility..blah blah. They still have a hangup on weird headlight combinations though.
Oh and the reason for this post- CORRECTION ON THE PRICE TAG- IT'S $17,000 for the new 800 twin. The Salesman's exact words were "they're both about 17 thou" So that makes them a better buy than the $19-$20k talked about on this thread earlier.

I know someone who bought the new 1200S in red/silver, and that is a very nice looker.

Very Interesting MD. Still too much though.

When I first looked, the S was $18,900, and the ST, was $19,900.

Any idea why the price changed?

Would you buy one at that price?

    Sarcastic rhetorical question.

    I wouldn't buy one at $17k.

Shouldn't cost anymore than an SV1000.

I heard the CEO of BMW rung Motorad Wgtn (collect call from Bavaria of course) to ask if that Jim bloody something or other bought one or not!
You're right Jim it's still a bit steep for what is only a 800 twin, but atleast an attractive alternative to the much dearer boxers - which are overpriced to me.

Took an ST for a test ride

Picked one up from Hamilton and told the dealer I'd be back in 1/2 hour but had it for 2 hrs. It was so much fun on the windy roads around Pirongia. At one point on great stretch of road called Meadways, I thought I'd like to wind this bike up but when I looked down at the speedo, I was already doing 130 km.
I even did an emergency stop, along Te Rapa, only 100 metres from taking it back, when a vehicle in the outside lane decided to turn into a shop. Stopped on a sixpence but wasn't aware if the ABS cut in.
Very smooth and great handling but expensive.

So you guys want a cheap BMW - I don't think you are their projected market.

Actually I think this is the targeted market for the F800.
The real mystery is how come that fat bastard Hurley has never lost any weight.
