    Inconveniences and rip-offs

Lost my wallet in Hamilburg on Wednesday. Made me oh-so unhappy, it did.
So I go through the motions with the pleece, get sorted at the bank (12/10 for the dude at Ham central BNZ) and go home to face the usual barrage of stupid questions from Mrs What?
Yesterday I start getting replacements for all the other bits and bobs. Now, Driver's licences and Firearms licences are effectuively both issued by the gummint. They are essentially identical things, just different data attached. So, why is one $25, and the other $31.10? And why is either card so expensive, when these things can be profitably produced for under $2??
And the airpoints card is also $25, and doesn't even have a photo!
All my other cards get replaced for free.
    Funny old world, innit...

but your respective 25 and 31 dollars are needed to pay the other social welfare system known as government employment in beaurocracy.
Think of it as a gift, to all the lazy people in the world!
