That's the beauty of it - random stop for no reason and hey presto! here's somebody driving a car that he has just stolen - or is drunk - or is both.

You guys need to harden up. It only takes a few minutes for them to check things and that aint gonna kill you, however it could save someones life, car/bike or both.

My mate got pulled over at least once a day. A big samoan with an aff driving an old muscle car. Looks dodgy so they pull him over, run a few checks and let him on his way. The only complaint i heard from him was "oh, again. This happens all the time." 1 time vs every day, forum rant vs 1 line of complaint.

It's a fact of life that if you look dodgy, drive something dodgy or something that often has something illegal to do with it then people will naturally distrust or suspect you. The cops are just doing their job and have probably had experience with your type of bike having riders who are doing something wrong or have something illegal going on. Its the old saying "better to be safe than sorry"

I've always found it beneficial to wear a shirt and tie and drive a sensible family car when indulging in illegal activities. I can't understand why so many crims over here wear badges

    P/T - I don't actually break the law.

Anymore posts akin to those of Wayanders above will be relegated to the "No More MR Nice Guy" thread, I feel I have explained enough about why people are stopped without reason.

Have to say you are being very restrained in this regard........

Hey guys get over it......."any time, any where" is what I understand are the rules......last time I got stopped (speeding) the cop said.....never would have looked twice at you if you had not been speeding.....dumb me big fine, lots of points......served me right........mind you there are some officers of the law that seem to be really zealous in their actions too eh?

You mean like the cop that wrote me a ticket for riding with no headlight after I had already pulled over no more than 2 seconds after it blinked out?

Or perhaps the one that I asked why she pulled me over only to be told she hadn't figured that out yet only to write me a ticket for not wearing prescription glasses when my sunnies are prescription?

Or maybe the one that pulled me up for flying the finger to a couple of pricks that were throwing shit at me from the ide of the road?

Maybe I should move to Scummies town. Seems more peacefull down there.

Surely they would have better things to do. Like figure out why Maori families are killing their own kids, or the bastards throwing shit from overpasses. Or maybe the guys that keep breaking into houses here. Oh yea that's right, those things don't have as much potential for revenue.

These threads keep popingup from time to time - same shit - different players often. Why moan about being stopped by the police - I prefer to moan about the fact that our polititians spend all their effort and time slagging each other off instead of constructing decent policy for the betterment of New Zealanders.

We had an interesting situation in Glasgow a couple of decades ago, there were far too many stabbings but in Glasgow all the people with blades were white coz all the gangs are white - the lowest socio-economic group in scotland is white so the police couldn't be accused of racism. What then happened was called operation blade where police had an active policy of stop and search - if you were caught with a blade you went inside - none of this community service shite - stabbings dropped within weeks - they copuln't do it in London coz the Black geezers couldn't handle being stopped - screamed racism and all that shite.

I got stopped 3 times a week but didn't bother me coz I knew that on average the arseholes wee being stopped too.

I'd rather have a brief conversation with a police officer than a 12 inch blade in the kidney - call me fickle if you will - however I must say that Strathclyde Police were always courteous and polite and never spoke down to people nor did they patronise people.

EXACTLY! It seems to me like a lot of the moaners moan how they weren't doing anything wrong, but then snigger that only minutes earlier they had been doing 140, or had their L plate hidden, or had the murder weapon in their pocket, or "lucky he didn't find my pipe eh!"

Get over it! More police and more stopping people I say. Faark, the number of drivers I see who need to be done for reckless driving, we certainly need more police on the road. And of course attending violent crimes and helping people too, etc.

Hey fickle - harden up. Bit of senceless violence never hurt anyone.
