    Alex Barros, back in MotoGP

BRAZIL veteran Alex Barros is heading back to MotoGP, motorcycle racing's premier category, after signing a deal with Pramac d'Antin, the private Ducati team announced overnight.

Barros, 36, spent this year racing in the world superbikes championship with Honda, but has been handed a golden chance to further his record of competing in 258 grands prix over a 20-season career.

Barros, who competed in his first GP in 1986 in the 80cc category and has seven career victories and 31 podiums to his name, last competed in the MotoGP category in Portugal in 2005.

He raced 24 times in the superbikes, winning the first leg in Imola, Italy and claiming six podium places before finishing sixth overall.
