Did anyone do like me 'n 'er today? We surfaced at 7.30am after a cuppa "au lit" of course. Took one look outside, saw the blue stuff and decided to do the hill and take breakfast in Martinborough. It was fabulous, we had the Rimutakas to ourselves in glorious sunshine. The bike was on song and so we made the most of it. The CB is so effortless to ride. It just loves whatever you ask it to do. Some have said of the CB "nice, but non-descript" Me? I find it every bit as much fun as my ex-ZX9. Different, but definately just as much of an adrenilin rush. Passed about three cars (going the other way!) before reaching the summit cafe. No one there, so we carried straight on to the Fish where we were customer numero uno. (They were just putting the tables out!) Had a srummy eggs benedict and two lattes (dahling) in the sun and then headed off to do the loop. Again, not a soul in sight. It was magic. Who cares that you do this road over and over again? It's just a brilliant ride when all the conditions are perfect. After Gladstone, did the right turn up into the hills past the two chimney thingies (still no one about) and carried on following through to Masterton. Had a leg stretch stop at Langlands and perused the goodies, then headed back to Greytown for what was meant to be a coffee stop at the White Swan but ended up as an early lunchtime pint. Doesn't it make you feel good when people on the sidewalk stop and oggle at your bike? And then when you leave, the other patrons stare at you as you get kitted up and climb aboard. Do you reckon it's envy? On the last leg (as Lady McCartney would say!) we enjoyed the hill once more and returned home by half one. Brilliant...and not a cop to be seen either. Can I go out to play again tomorrow please mummy?
