Talking Wanted - Suzuki GN250, I wanna ride NOW!!

I need a bike, first timer here. I have a suzuki DZ250 for the trails and have sat my licence. I would like a new or near new GN250 for the road. It has been suggested that this would be the perfect machine for taking me through to the full licence stage.
All comments welcome, I can't wait to get out there.....
I am in the Waikato area so would appreciate a local bike but also willing to travel if the price is right.

Do they still make nice dark green ones.....?

Good on you there!!! May you have many years of enjoyable riding. As far as I know they only make the new ones in red (yuck), blue (spew) or black (sexy), lol, sorry anyone with a blue or red one, just my opinion! GN's are great little learners bikes, safe as houses, confidence building and learning all the things you need to know. Just watch the oil level, don't expect to go up hills very quickly (or anywhere for that matter), but most of all, have fun, ride safe and watch out for the looneys in their cars. Oh, and WELCOME!

Welcome to the maddest Biker site in New Zealand.

The GN250 is the perfect beginners road bike. It'll teach you safe habits on the road and still cruise comfortably at the open road speed limit. You may outgrow it before you are ready for your full licence, but only you will know when that time comes.

I believe that this year's ones are only available in red or black. Whatever one you get, enjoy it.
    Time to ride

Welcome. And whatever they say about me, it isn't true. And it was all a big mistake.

And a very good choice of bike to start off on the road. (Though, just a thought, have you considered making the DZ250 road legal - just since you already have it ?)

ok if you've got your heart set on a gn250..... God knows why... but if you do find yourself in that unfortunate situation.

FROSTY has mark aucklands custom gn250 that he might look at selling.
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

Not to do anyone out of a sale but... you might want to consider the range of 250 road bikes available. Ginny's are good for those that haven't ridden before but there are quite a few other bikes out there that may suit your tastes/needs better.
Of course you can't get into too much trouble on a Ginny....

Ha! If you've sold out the ZXR for one of those badly built Korean pieces of shite, you don't get an opinion
