Phew - that was lucky - I went to bed last night and thought - oh - I hope no one takes that the wrong way - but I should have known better.

One thing to remember is that the idiot is probably much more experienced in matters of random violence and you are all pumped up after the fright and are acting on instinct. While you are on your bike and he is in his car he has ALL the advantage and will not hesitate to use it. Most folks on the forum are decent people and despite the posturing not the type to randomly mess people up so a lot of the tooting and 'fuck yous' etc is pretty much bluff and posturing (it's 100% a natural reaction designed to avoid violence).

At the time of the incident these guys have the advantage and they know it. If they can end it by a sneaky low blow or a sudden swerve they will do it and all you can do untill the odds come back in your favour is stay out of range.

Try to avoid talking to them or pointing out what they did wrong - it won't make any difference except to make you vunerable to attack from them. Write down their details and grab a witness is the most effective thing.

Unless you are an advanced cyborg able to ride a HD like a trail bike one handed and armed with a cool twirling shotgun that you can shoot with your other hand OR and undercover super hero with an actual cape stay the hell away from cars. The bloody things are dangerous enough when driven by 'normal' people

Possibly true, but the fact that the car driver left the scene of an accident is worse, specially since he must have known that the accident may have casued injury.

Sorry to hear about this Intense, I wish for nothing but pain, suffering and misery for the piece of shit that did this.

I just want to remind folks that the registered owner of a vehicle isn't necessarily connected to the driver.

Especially if the vehicle has been borrowed, or the car (or plates) are stolen, or a change of registration hasn't been entered etc etc.

Don't do anything until you know all of the facts.

This may be your problem Intense. Although it seems unfair, I can understand the logic. If you run into the back of the vehicle in front IRRESPECTIVE of why they slow/stop then YOU are at fault for not following at a safe distance that would allow you to stop in time. Your insurance may well play this card.
He left the scene of an accident without checking injured or offering assistance/aid so he should be up for a serious charge there.

Good idea - It's easy enough to check the culprit vehicle is in the driveway of the registered owner first, or ring him to confirm before torching the car.

I'm glad to hear you are relatively okay - everything thats important is intact! I understand the loony side of how a situation can go pear shaped pretty quick, hope everything settles in your favour and you get back to riding ASAP!

Always bad to hear of situations as you found yourself in (brings back bad memories of my one!)

Ah well, long as you learn and live to learn from it I guess!

Agree slimjim. I have often wanted a gun that spits out ballbearings - having it mounted on handlebars (if no visor). The more I read about the lack of our justice system the more I am starting to believe to take it into your own hands - just don't get caught!!

Well it has taken 2 months to wrangle with the insurance company - now I am about to suss out parts to fix the bike!!

Hope you have recovered from the shock!

Seek a legal opinion BEFORE making your insurance claim!!!!

Whilst your reactions make perfect sense to all of the insurance compan may take a different view of it.

My advice pay to speak to a lawyer before submitting your claim, last thing you need is to have it rejected due to some stupid technicality.
