I thought that was gazpacho?
lmao, that is one sad story...
glad you're ok.
..it's another red light nightmare..
Hey first up sorry for the late update chaps & ladies, just moved house (on top of other dramas) so have only just got back on the interweb.
Cheers for sympathies from all, much appreciated, and fr words of wisdom, my mistake was not going another way to work after the start of it all. Perhaps even being in the same Island... But anyway, the Police have caught up with him, (not the 85 year old) -how do you find that stuff out... heheh. It turns out the "suspect" is a known to the police, so that blows hes credability if he trys the "dangerous biker" line. Things are slow as hes trying to weasel out but al the paperwork has been served as far as i know, so there is some progress. What a relief.
As for my baby, im taking her into Welly MCs to get sussed out next week, from my look at it, it all looks cosmetic, fairings, lights etc. (thank fk that my sweet sounding remus got away from it virtualy unmarked!)
The ironic thing is that id started layby on a new shoei raid2 the week before it happened... gutted. my perfect christmas present to muyself thisyear is a rejuvinated sexy black honda. *sigh* so hopefully i can park up on cuba street one day again soon.
As much as i love the thought of vigilante justice, its not my way. and i dont condone it. I have the law on my side, and im not keen to let this fkwitt get away with it. He threatend me, used a weapon against me and did a runner. i want to see him without a car, and a life ban on driving, because the way i see it, the next time he goes roadrage on some one, is he going to kill them?
It is only when we have lost everything that we are free to do anything.
Make sure he's banned from also living within 5 miles of Island bay, or exported to that crazyland north of Hamilton because at the moment hes just too bloody close to home... about 1 km from me I suspect. Taking their licence away doesn't stop the real nutters , until they really do kill someone or a whole family eventually. See it too many times in the paper. Disqualified drivers doing major destruction. Good luck on the case and perhaps some of the local members may be able to come into court for support if you want? Theres always someone around at different times.

Good to hear that it's going the right way. Good luck with both the bike and the bandit
Now the past is over but you are not alone
Together we'll fight Sylvester Stallone
We will not be dragged down in his South China Sea
of macho bullshit and mediocrity
Good read... bad luck and you're right, we have all been there before and given a serve to dopey drivers who pull out in front of you or change lanes onto you... most acknowledge their error and all is good in the world again. It's a shame about the odd loose cannon tho... quite like the idea of a number of bikers at his court appearance giving him the word after his appearance...
bwaaa haaa haaa " The Law" thats funny. Only just read the thread bloke and much sympathy for you and your metal friend. No one should ever have an experience like this.
However, dont mean to burst your bubble (and i acutally think you are a better person than me for being able to think like this) but the law on your side dont mean dick. He did what he did because he doesnt fear any consequence from the law and what it has become. How good would the day be that this guy gets a jail sentence for assault with intent to cause GBH. I doubt he will make it to court.
Hope he does, hope he gets run over by a train (railways have really good water blasters to clean these up easily), hope he learns the error of his ways....
keep us informed and good luck...
Hey intense, good to hear the balls rolling in some action being taken. Hope it's not too long before you're back on two wheels again.
Sorry to find out such actions going on back home. My only question is how did he stay with you? I was doing the parade run up to Newtown for a very long time and never got stuck in traffic. IMO, if you see someone that you think is a danger to you get the bike going and get the F out of there. On two wheels we are fooked most of the time in a crash.
Hope you get a good payout![]()
Having a smile on your face will stop people asking if your OK
I'm glad you are getting it sorted, but this thread has been bothering me. Even nice people who can admit they made a mistake can get defensive when they are sworn at like that. This guy was obviously a nasty idiot, and my Grandad always said 'treat all on the road like they are idiots' so to swear at him and then get in front (having the enemy at your back) seems a bit naive.
Maybe I am playing 'Devils advocate' here, but nothing good ever comes from abuse in my experience. Years ago I was edgy and defensive after riding a pushbike around Auckland for a while, and was yelling at a young guy who cut me off and nearly collected me. After a minute he said 'I said sorry and I didnt hit you' In other words 'what more can I do?' it shut me up and made me think twice. Obviously some people are incorrigible, but not everyone is, and most respond to abuse with abuse, and niceness with niceness.

You may want to backtrack five months worth of threads here from Wellington riders. We are sick and tired of nearly been wasted nearly every time we hit the capitals roads. Abusing someone after nearly been killed isnt exactly over reaction in my book. I was known to 'show' my boot to car doors in my earlier days but now I am old and actually know I could die, I practice self preservation techiques such as..... keep well away from cars. Doesnt stop those that still cut me off while changing lanes etc though.
Going in front of the 'enemy' makes no difference, he would have come after Intense anyway. What sort of nutter does this sort of thing and then drives off? Not the average road rage nutter for sure, and as he said the nutter is 'known' to police. Whats does that say in itself?

the 'average road rage nutter', but a whole lot worse. But that's my point, if you don't know who or what you are abusing you a taking an even bigger risk.
I don't think I will backtrack and read those threads - I'm only new and I don't want to be put off, because I am loving riding my bike way too much!
Cheers
