Ok, I've just finished reading the article.

""If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the the garden or in the park or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it ... whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred."

    - Sheik Taj Aldin Alhilali, Australian mufti (does this mean he doesn't dress like a muslim??)."

Is he trying to tell me I should keep the missus in the fridge, covered with glad wrap and away from cooked meat?

If you're hell bent on misquoting it and taking it out of context... surely it's saying to keep your meat off the street for fear of a pussy coming along and helping itself.

But it's not the pussy's fault - it's the women that owns the pussy... isn't it?

I wonder who's fault it is if it's a man pussy - like Maurice's? Is a woman still to blame?

I'd say yes. They are the cause of most of men's problems so we can't be homophobic and exclude Maurice from the suffering.

No worries - so the gender of the owner of the pussy is irrelevant. The pussy is known to attack man meat when left lying around in the sun on the street and it's a woman's fault for not being covered up.

It stands to reason that I can blame Uncle Helen for attacking the average man on the street, and proof she should be covering her face.

No, hes not.. hes the Mufti of all the muslims in aussie and NZ, a position which puts him somewhere up around the archbishop/pope level. This guy is not a flake/cult leader like tamaki, hes the most senior muslim leader in all of Australasia.

    BACK ON TOPIC

ok - i'm female - i'm in australia and have watched the news broadcasts and read translations of what he said and the reaction to it ....

and i am extremely pleased to see the level of debate, censure and condemnation for extremist views WITHIN THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY here that has only happened because this twerp has spouted his drivel publically

two sides of the coin - this mullah fella taking the separatist line he grew up with when he lived in another, harsher place .......... and the exasperation of the younger, more modern muslims who are growing up HERE and want acceptance by the broader community

despite the fact that other mullahs [as they'd have to, really, if their creed is to retain any credibility in their community] are now quasi-supporting him by saying his comments were taken out of context, the mullah-fella in question has been stood down from mullahing duties and has apologised .......

......i reckon it's been a learning experience all round

and, by the way, i don't much care for the way HE dresses [and i DO mean 'dresses' ] either -
...... but i'd be much too polite to say that in public ...........

Well , he *claims* to be the *Honorary* Mufti of Australia. And New Zealand. But that claim is exactly as valid as Brian Tamki's claim to be a Bishop.

The title of Mufti is only "official" in a country which gives legal recognition to a fatwah. Or, if the title is recgnised by the Caliph of Islam (there is presently no recognised Caliph).

So, just as Mr Tamki's followers may call him "Bishop" (as a title of respect) even though there is no legal basis for the title , so may Imam Hilaly's followers call him Mufti even though there is no legal basis for the title.

Many Australians Muslims do not accord him the title, and there is nothing is Sharia law that requires them to do so. I doubt there would be many (if any) NZ Muslims who would recognise him.

Yes he is a flake - he's self appointed. He isn't appointed by any higher authority.

*oops - just saw Ixion's post*

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
