I know this is just a piss take, but be carefull...how bad would one feel if he did do himself in while out riding?

I'm a little worried, because Mark's little manifesto is pretty much the way I went into this game, sacrificing fairings and jeans in the pursuit of pushing it a little harder than is sensible.

I think I've learnt now, the lesson summed up best by a biker I know: "Anyone can learn to control a bike, the hard part is controlling yourself."

There is nothing wrong with going out there and pushing it just a little further each time, i have spent the past 2 months purposely pushing my limits, the result is that i can now run the tyres happily right over the edge of the tyre, and get some decent lean off the side of the bike. That didnt happen by going out there and just pushing hard, crashing and then learning. That is the expensive way. Go out there, leave enough in reserve so that when something catches you out, you can catch it and bring it back right, even if your heart is in your mouth!
I agree, Mark could become one helluva fast rider if he applies himself and learns technique from some of the more experienced riders. He lacks the fear that holds many people back.

MARK - Dont be offended by people saying learn a bit on the track, because it IS the best way to get fast, i have yet to do a fair bit of time myself, and plan to! You are doing fine, go a bit easier so you dont off, but keep trying and keep learning. As we chatted about the other day, mark your wheels so that you can see how far you are leaning over each time. Twilight Rd in whitford is a good road to teach fast cornering, just be careful about picking your lines, some of the corners i find easy to run wide on if you are nto careful.

    Amen to that.
I wonder if the gung-ho attitude comes as standard equipment with that particular model? Seems to me that a lot of riders of that particular bike seem to ride as if they're playing a video game with the same consequences of a crash. (Fall off, just press 'Replay')
No disrepect to Mark though. I bet he gets a lot more adrenalin in his system from riding his bike than I do from mine. Have fun but be careful out there brother!

Hey Jas - I would stop mentioning Mark's 'sword' if I were you - he could end up in taking it the wrong way!

By your own admission it was a shitload of oil... slipping on a shitload of oil on the road sounds like a newbie mistake to me.

How about rather than trying to go as fast as possible wherever you go you should focus on watching the road conditions and you would've seen the oil. Learn to ride properly, but this does not always mean ride fast.

Fortunately my insurance is very reasonable because I sorted it through my parent's insurance. I recently got an online quote from ebikeinsurance.com who claims to have the most competitive rates - yeah right, competitive at 3 grand a year.

Whether Mark has insurance or not, it's this sorta stupid shit that makes adults
think so lowly of youth and my generation. But then again, you'd hope that with age comes the wisdom to not generalize. But shit, who can blame them with Mark leading the stupid parade.
