    Thunder park

How far away is the track? I'm planning on heading out there soon (when we don't have rain for at least a week. I've heard mixed reports. WRT told me about some guys sinking in the mud like the horse in the never ending story (the guy should have had a bike anyway)

    cheers

Probably an hour from your place Cheese. I went there a few Fridays ago. There were some muddy holes but for the most part it was hard and dusty. Just need to avoid a few areas if your a wee bit lacking in skills.
How are the forks feeling with some fresh oil? I have some stickers available if you want me to send them to you.

I rode there on Sunday, had a great day, mostly fast hard rutted clay tracks and there were a couple of small but deepish bogs and yes I was the guy stuck in the middle. There would have been 20 or so bikes and quads there at one stage. We left just before the showers came over.

    Hi Greg

Yeah teh forks feel so much better. I went and did some motox to break them in at onehunga. I managed to bottom them out once (that oring is a great indicator!!!) but that was after a hard landing over a jump that was a bit of a mean dip. I hit the ramp wrong and just shot 2m upwards in the air !!!! Shit myself a bit too!! Turning is alot better and thanks for that guide on how to put the front wheel on properly!!!!!!!!! I did click up on the damper after I bottomed out so it wouldn't happen again (is that right?)

I've got to get my radiators sorted then I think I'll get you to have a look a the rear and give it a service.

My wife is really keen to give riding a go now!! My sister has an XR100 sitting in tauranga that I'm going to borrow for a bit to see how she likes it.

    anyway back to thunder park!!

I think I might head out there in a couple of weeks, or when is river head open again? I really enjoyed it there last time. even if thee were giving me shit for being on a MX bike when the KTM club seemed to be in force out there!!!! I'll post up a date if anyone is keen to come along.

Yeah, increasing your compression will help with bottoming a little, as long as it doesn't make it harsh or too stiff on the smaller bumps or effect your cornering. If you experience hard bottoming often we can add a little oil via the bleed screws. Soft bottoming is ok.
There is a two man on at Riverhead this weekend. Waitemata Motorcycle Club. A day licence can be bought on the day if you don't have one. I think they have an Ironman class too.

You get off at Mercer and its about 20mins from there, near Glen Murray. Went down last weekend, lots of fun. Better than Kimmys me thinks.
