    Waiouru Army ride

Awesome ride last weekend on the Waiouru Army base!

We've posted some photos and a quick review on the site

Can't believe there weren't more people there - it was like we had the whole place to ourselves! If the ride happens again, which it sounds like it will, it's worth the trip!

I think an adventure type bike would have been okay on the day. There were a couple of boggy sections that may have proven tricky for a heavier machine but in saying that - I saw a big BMW twin head out at one point and he made it through the bogs shown in the photos.

If you're a confident rider - I'd give it go when it happens again. There were a bunch of army boys on road going bikes too and they were obviously not that expierenced but were doing okay! No doubt if you did get stuck someone would give you a hand cause that's how most trail riders are in my expierence!

Yeah I was doing a weapons qual on the Army base that weekend and got a fright seeing bikes everywhere. We even had to share the roads with you guys around Old-class range. Glad they were well coned off with big arrows pointing the way - wouldn't want any of you wondering onto the grenade range
