when i was looking for a vtwin i had the luck that the shop i was looking at had both so i rode them back to back. we have all heard the stories about the tls with its controversial rear setup and its twitchy front end, but when i test rode it i i was grinning from ear to ear the way the power is delivered is awesome, wheelies are much to easy. nice riding position not to cramped. when i rode the vtr i did not find it very exciting although a very good bike i felt like it was more of an all rounder than a bike with loads of character and a dodgy history. safe to say i chose the tl and i made the right choice awsome power loads of mid range grunt never had a problem with the suspension or front end. Took it round the coro loop recently with a bunch of others and it did not miss a beat awesome in the twisties for a large bike. what a load of bollocks i talk so last thing to say is i think it has more character and history than either the vtr or the sv

Hmmmmm....rode them both...VTR for me and coming 2nd overall in points in the NSDW at champion against a hyabusa says they dont lack on power. If you think they dont get up and go you obviously dont have the balls to use the throttle properly.....LOL but everyone to thier own....ride them both and decide which suits you.'

(lets see the shit fling now huh?)
I rode to a friends house in the rain, he asked me if times were that tough, I said you wouldnt understand and if you did understand you would not have asked me that.....a ride is a ride....

    - from the TL bible. brilliant. i found i had to drop the final drive gearing on my vtr before i could even get the front wheel up, TL just hauls, and hauls, and then you hit the powerband and it hauls some more..it gives me goosebumps thinking about how well she goes! the biggest differences i found were the riding position - the TL has a higher seat (more than 10mm i think) but its FAR less cramped, i used to loathe riding away for the weekend cos i knew i'd get uncomfortable in the first hour - not so with the new girl. can ride for 3 hours before needing a stretch. and the engine...what an engine. the VTR engine was lumpy and shitarse below 4000rpm if you gave it a fistful, the TL just handles the nuts. i'm definitely a convert..

also, i couldn't have the 'real men ride twins' sticker with hot chicks on it worn on the back of my helmet when i owned a vfr or cbr..haha!

hahaha..admittedly i would love a TLR, as it has been one of my dream bikes for ever BUT the first thing i'd do is switch the tail for a late model gixxer..along with some of the front end..they are fuckin hefty bikes for being nearly 10kg lighter than an 'S'!

can't wait to start my fightering. gonna lighten the front end up stupid amounts..
