Now that's a nice picture! My old home town of Whakatane and the maiden on the rock. Beats Pania any day!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

    Hi Scott,
Finally got everything signed up for the 7th & 8th!!!

    Couple of queries:
5th: No problem meeting you somewhere on the Thames coast, I will make sure I am at Miranda by 9.00am and will wait for you. I'm always ready to sit around in the sun....

5th: Following the coast up to Auckland...no problems. I suggest we then do a bit of a suburban meander and end up following the city coastline (city beaches) into the central city, then on to the motorway and follow the northern motorway out of town - SH1.
This is probably 30 minutes longer than getting on the motorway at the first chance but it's a neat way to enter the city.
Let me know on the day if neccessary.
If you want to stop in the city let me know and we can adjust the route to suit.

90 mile beach...nearly sorted, just seeking some local advice.

8th & 9th: If anyone needs accomodation in Auckland we have tons of space available....15mins from centre.

    Anything else, let me know.

    Iain

just a query for anyone in the whakatane area who would like to support the cause but cant make the ride.i have approached management at Harvey Norman Whakatane who have agreed to supply a BBQ at their store on the
morning of the 4th of feb to help raise funds for the ride.they will supply the food at no cost and all proceeds will go towards this cause.it could also be a quik refreshment stop for riders heading north
the problem we have is we need a couple of volunteers to help setup and run the BBQ......can anyone out there help???

    brilliant guys

absolutely brilliant, when around the coast in taranaki you have to stop off at the local beach home for cancer sufferers and families named after a courageuos fighter and the family who organised it's building of,called house for karen,it's on the coast by rahotu,a house for families to get away, and supported by local business people etc, only bad part was when thehouse was transported to the site and had no security system some f..ken lowlifes broke in and stole lcd tvs, stereos etc.also can we sign up for ride via internet deposit, very keen on the taranaki leg, would love to be at the end in napier to greet you, have done the survivors walk in palmy last year and believe me if there is a good side to having cancer, taking part in the survivors walk was emotionally brilliant, very hard not to shed a few tears of joy when people are applauding as you walk around the track with your wife/family and supporters, may the great weather shine on you and have a fun trip, cheers tony.
