Hey all
Yes after a day off yesterday, we left the sun in Auckland for the sun in Taranaki
What a great day (except for Carissa dislocating her knee again) just before New Plymouth!! She didnt fall off, it just happens occasionally.
We had to stop, she couldnt get her leg straight, but we somehow managed to get her off the bike so she could put it back into place!.
Makes her ill when she does that, and seeing her do it, didnt make me feel to good either!!![]()
We rode around the coast from Waitomo to Awakino, fantastic!!!
The gravel road was slippy as I guess it has been graded and repaired in the last few days.
When was the last time you did something for the first time??
Well we rode through the motorways of Auckland, and all you the live there dont probably think anything off it, but we were scared sh**less!![]()
Still we survived, so thanks Iain for the escort you provided for our first motorway experience!
Tomorrow is our last leg of the North Island (except for the final day) so watch out Southerners here we come![]()
Cheers Scott

Hi All
Well we have made it to Wellington
We left the Taranaki and rode around the mountain, we met up with Ynot Slow in Opunake, a real nice guy.
We then stopped in at Hawera for a cuppa with them at a local cafe before continuing south towards Wellington.
It was so nice to ride with the sun in our faces for the day![]()
We then stopped in at Scooters Plus in Levin for a bbq and a cold drink, Dave and his wife really laid it on, which was fantastic![]()
Then about 15 bikes rode into Wellington to our final destination at Grubs and Nasty's place, where a fully laid out dinner had been prepared!!
Amazing to think that they had all gone to so much trouble to accommodate us.
Three cheers for the Welly crew for making us so welcome.
Merv has taken has great photos that I am sure he will post up soon.
Today is a easy day, with a trip to Wellington Motorcycles before crossing Cook Strait on the ferry at 2pm.
We will meet up with the South Island Passes riders tonight for a quick drink and meal.![]()
Cheers Scott & Carissa
