They don't come in my size!!!.

Can't afford any for the Sporty either - feel free to buy it and fit them yourself at your leisure!

'Sides, too busy keeping an eye on CB - see the thread 'FRAUD' to see what happens when I DON'T keep a close eye on her.

Why not? Most motorcycles are far smaller than a car or other vehicle weigh less and have higher power to weight ratios and spend far less time passing than other vehicles on average....... I mean the physics behind it changes due to the inherent difference in vehicle types ....

Well maybe if they applied some common sense to their application then I would obey, laws that defy logic are hard for some people to follow example:

Turning right in to Barry's Point road on the shore heading to devo there is a set of lights.

When you first get the green you also get a red arrow with the green disc, now straight through traffic clears rather rapidly at all NON PEAK times and then you sit at the lights with no oncoming traffic for an extended period of time unable to safely complete your right turn due to the red arrow (note no oncoming traffic). Now a few minutes later the lights further up the road from you release traffic towards you the intends going straight through towards you, which they can as you are on a red arrow and them a green disc, except as the new stream of traffic approach , remember you have been giving way essentially to no one, they get an orange disc and then the red and once they are stopped you get the green, all the while you could of safely and easily gone well in front of the now stopped stream of traffic and they could of gone through behind you but nooooooo.........

And there is fucktins of other examples of poor uses of red arrows and such on the Shore, and I think part of the reason is the councils(?) knowing the average NZ does not really comprehend the road code and are unable to negotiate simple intersections.

In the gorge you are not allowed to overtake even if not crossing the yellow lines (there is a sign that reads no over taking). I have overtaken many cars while in that gorge and that is where i have had my first/only accident. I was a bad boy and overtaking on a right hand bend (I had started overtaking before bend but 4X4 sped up, road clear for a LARGE distance and I could see all the road around the corner) but the merc 4x4 decided to 'cut' the corner while I was overtaking him and he almost smooshed me into the barrier on the right hand side of the road, instead of htting barrier I decided to hold my ground and the car collected me. I don't think there is any reason for the double yellow lines because you are not ment to cross the white line unless overtaking, and these double yellows are ment to stop people cutting the corner, no mention of overtaking being a problem but anyway I think its a good thing that the cops are there because when I do go through the gorge I get sick of cars cutting into my lane especially when they look right at me but do it anyway cause I got plenty of room to move over.

Ah, but unfortunately despite all the above not all riders have a better brain than some car drivers (or if they do they don't know how to use it)...

From what I have seen of most peoples attempts at passing they should ban it all together.

Dont get me started on the fucks that cruise at 80 and then speed up to 100 to make legal passing not an option for those who try to follow the law as cops sit at the end of passing lanes to get a few$$, opps sorry make the world a safer place

I haven't seen the sign either but the cop who came to visit me after the crash told me it was there because i said I was trying to pass without crossing the double yellows.

Geez, I can't believe some of pro cop-tax-us-to-hell do-goodie attitude that some people have here. Get real - speed cameras are here to raise taxes. I gurantee that if everyone slowed down and they got zero taxes, they'd lower the speed limit to catch some more of us ...

No one is against safety - so put the cameras in front of schools and accident blackspots.

Privately, I have heard from a couple of cops I know (not in NZ) that they do not agree with the present money collecting system.

You're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone here. However, I'd just like to point out that the cameras in the gorge are NOT speed cameras, they have been installed to stop morons crossing the centre-line and getting away with it. I hate speed cameras as much as the next person, but this blitz may actually save someone's life.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
