Only reason i jump out of bed in the morning, to ride to work (even though i sadly live 2 minutes ride away...) I do detours on a good day.

I hate the anticipation all week of going riding with some mates, for them to all cancel..

    So I go riding anway.

Yeah, that's the way! 5 minutes for me to get to school to teach, 2 hours for me to ride on home via the twisties! I'm hearing ya!

Hahaha....I know a mate of yours who spews during rides. :spudwave:

I dont get nervous before a road ride anymore....more excitement than anything. However I do get nervous driving to the track and it's at the same point on the Broardlands/Taupo road, coming out of the pine trees....up the hill about 2 minutes from the track. By the time I get to the loos it's touching cloth!

Anticipation, excitement, nerves whatever you want to call it: is a perfectly normal phenomenan when you really enjoy doing something. I really look forward to a ride anytime and it was the same when I used to go hunting a lot. Sleeplessness, mentally going over things etc, all part of the process and when you go without, yeah, you'll get a little tetchy. It's called cold turkey because of addiction.

I also have the problem of going down to the garage and just eyeing up my black beauty sitting in the corner. This seems to be a common occurrence and yet another side effect of enjoyment of one's pursuits. I used to play with my hunting rifles and check them over every now again too but since I got back into motorcycling, they have taken a back seat.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.
