    Wellington- Parking on Footpaths

Walked past the bikes on Grey Street (outside ANZ - opposite Arizona) at lunch time. Everyone of the bikes/scooters parked up on the pavement had a council warning on it. Looks like they have finally gotten sick of the number of bikes parked up illegally there and are going to start ticketing/towing. If you don't want to come back to find your bike gone - take heed. They are targetting the spot.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Heaps more bikes on Boulcott St too now. Do they often ticket for being on the footpath?

Yeah I did see a whole heap of them up there when I went past today. And along Willis St (top end) - in fact all through town. There are a shit load of bikes out there now...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

youd think the council would encourage people to ride bikes instead of bringing cars into town...but no the cunts want you to ride the bus

    The simple fact is...

Like anything...you always get the minority ruining it for the majority.
If you park on the footpath...be considerate and leave heaps of room for the foot traffic and you should be sweet!

But I've seen some fuckheads park their bikes like they own the fucking footpath....this is never gonna help!

i very rarely make use of a footpath. only place in fact is the post office/kiwi bank, and then i park on the slippery "shell" stuff, right out of the way.

i did see an older racing bike with no kickstand on the path once, leaning on a pole. parking warden walked by [i was admiring the bike] and said "i could give him a ticket for that, but he didnt have any other option!" i think my looking may have helped out a bit too.

Bloody pricks. Write some stroppy letters to the council. Who ever heard of bikes not being allowed on footpaths. Actually Im thinking of trying to hit the council up for more security thingies to chain bikes to. The ones we have are good but there arent enough of them . They're meant for the pushies of course cos the lycra clad poof brigade have clout with the PC bureaucrats. But we can use them too . And I do
