Yeah, that pisses me off more than the ones who don't look. It's like they're saying, "Yeah, I see you, but fuck you, I'm going anyway!"
It's prolly more like that they completely underestimate your speed and distance, Whatever; it sucks!

You couldn't have described it better. I have seen this many times.

I think a lot of the times the drivers are in auto pilot because the street/ intersection they are on is home territory or somewhere they frequent a lot and their brain is thinking "this is the way I should travel as usual - just drive on" instead of "here is an intersection, slow down to safe speed to assess all risks and plan my actions accordingly, stop if I have to, make sound judgements"

or... " Oh, its just a motorcycle, its not a car/ truck... they don't matter and I am in a car so I am more important on the road... bikes are smaller than cars so I will just sneak out here and be gone before they get to me anyway... SHIT!!! he got here faster than I thought..."

The last time this happened to me, I was on my way to Repco.
Now my VFR has three (3) horns and is farkin' loud.
Bring on the puller-outers, I say! I'm ready to punish them with my MightyHornsOfDoom!
