I Hate Car Bike Track Days!

why dont car drivers leave us alone and work it out for them to drive their test days on differnt days to us!
Im saying this because the cars hope over the cirbs and put stones on the inside line of the apex!!! man its annoying!!! please agree!
    ITS SO FRAUSTRATING

Not only that but the drifters......

From what I have been told they SCORE extra points for dropping a wheel off the track surface!!

Not only does this drag all sorts of sh*t onto the track, they run it into the surface and lay rubber over the top of it, leaving the grip patchy and inconsistant at best.

I can understand that they need places to do their sport, and that rubber will be left on the surface, but to ENCORAGE them to drag crap back onto the racing line is ridiculous. Also, they have a suprising (not) tendancy to spin off, lots. This pulls more stuff back on track.

This grip problem isn't such a biggie for cars, loosing grip for a second doesnt worry them too much at all, but for us motorcycle racers, when your pushing the envolope, having the grip unpredictably taken from you can have dire results.

This also isn't helped by the track mantanance. Most of NZ's tracks have scrubbers but often these arn't used.

Also, shouldn't it be up to the track users (ie, the drifters) to clean the place up if the've trashed it?? This would help us in trying to keep it rubber side down!!

    Cheers

I'm sure track management would agree to this if you don't mind paying $400 for the day instead of $90. There are plenty more cars out on the track than bikes. Simple economics, really.

In Chch the drifters have their own days they organise themselve and they sweep the track after they have finished, sounds like the track managers up there need to organise something similar

I agree with you Jay 100%

You wernt at the track day but at castrol there was a big pile of mud and dirt in the middle of the track it was pretty dodgy especially when usguys in the fast class wanted to go for it why cant they clean up after wards a good wash down and sweep and it would be sweet.

I remember the momment the Hyosung went down and spilt oil our guys were out there cleaning the track and then coned off the area covered in oil and then cleaned it up at the end of the day now thats what it should be like.

Its pretty simple really you clean up after yourself and also the super trucks they really get me annoyed especially when they blow a tire and keep going dont they think that they are wrecking the circuits?

How do you other racers feel about this issue and can someone move this thread to the racing forum?

Why should they? they pay to use the track just like every other user, it is a track management issue take it up with them

The drifters here also pay a bond to cover any track damage as well, there has only been once they haven't got it back at the end of the day

No need to, down here (for the most part) everyone takes care of the track.

    Good coments.

    Jayracer - absolutly correct.

Ivan - as Kickaha said, they have every right to the track as we do, But yes they do need to clean up after themselves.

My biggest concern ( this relates to manfeild only) is the condition of the track. It getting really quite appaling now.

It would be nice to see that cleaned up a bit.

Maybe where you are from, but not at our local. I know a couple of the competitors in NZD1 and they are very responsible, down to earth guys who care about their sport.

Drifting is bullshit. It's not motorsport, it's a lamed judged 'event'. What other bullshit subjective loser sports can we compare it to... diving, and figure skating come to mind. Anything that can't be measured is bollocks. If it requires a judge which is open to bias, bribes, whatever, then it's just another crappy old boys network piece of crap that should be told to fuck off. Screw those hippys leaving crap all over the track. Ahem.

Manfeild may be getting bad, but I bet the 600's can do 1-09's this season, so it cannot be that bad! It really is no worse on the true race line than it has been for 10 years or more
