What about these "green light devices" you see advertised? I know some states in Oz fit their firetrucks/ambos with these transponders gizmos to get them through the lights more quickly - maybe some buses use them to trigger light changes too?

Tractors are sold in NZ with the US SWS (Safety Warning System), maybe some ambulances have it too?
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
Fuck, I wish! Actually I'd like to be able to bust stupid pricks who get in my way, or haven't heard about checking your rear vision mirror occassionally.
As for radar - maybe it's the black box ambulances are fitted with which tells all the bigwigs in St John if we're speeding. Bastards!
I was pootling down the Mangere motorway a couple of weeks ago, when I saw (and heard) an ambo coming up behind. So, I moved left (2 lane motorway ), as did everyone else. Except some dork ahead in a Jap cage of some sort. Who just kept trundling along at around 80 (what the traffic was doing). Oblivious to this noisy flashy thing right behind his bumper.
And on he trndled for over a kilometre, until someone ahead in the left lane realised what was happening and braked hard, thus opening a gap in the left lane next to the ambo. Who then did a left, right around the obstacle and wailed off.
How can anyone NOT notice a shrieking wailing flashing thing the size of an ambo immediately behind them?
Can you not dob them in for a (well deserved) ticket if they don't get out of the way?
And I would have thought the bigwigs would be more worried about you NOT speeding ?
