just think glen, it seems pretty simple to me - or is there more than one in wellington?
if it is that shop (i refuse to tarnish their good reputation) then its a shame that the hyosung name is letting them down. although ive heard theyre quite good with warrenty stuff so far for them.

Yes, I know dude.....
But not everyone uses the shop that is closest to them.
So i don't want to think a bad name for a shop that doesn't deserve it
Hows you Bandit coming along Doug??
finally going to Shaun on friday

Crapola! Sounds like you are having no luck with that ride - must be a Friday built bike before the month long holiday in Korea! You're meant to ride mate, just not that heart-breaking piece of shite, I'd go spare if I was without my own ride for that long - dunno how you handle it!Though having a blat on the mighty Ginny does has its own mystique

So yeah, get a refund ... in full and go shopping for another two-fiddy!![]()

Sorry to hear about your warranty woes. I'm thinking (and you should be) what has caused that bearing to collapse? Defective material? Blocked oil line? Whatever it is, it shouldn't have, and you can definitely expect better performance and reliability than this from a near new bike. I'd be worried about it shitting itself once the warranty expires, or explaining to the next owner the reason so much work has been done on it (if you're asked, if you're honest!). I suggest you maybe write to the shop, or take a mate with you to back you up, as prev advised insist on replacement or money back, or down trade on something they have 2nd hand. That last one may be easiest for them. Then spend the extra $$ later on a bigger bike. Good Luck Dude.
what would you suggest he gets Renegade master?
I know!!
He should get a GPZ1000 and be a dick like you!!

Thanks for all the support and advice!
I actually got a call this morning saying it will be ready monday lunchtime-ish.
I have been thinking a bit about what I ACTUALLY want to happen, at first I thought all of my money back, save the rest for my full licence etc... but looking around for second hand deals, the type of bikes im looking at are around the 4-5k mark anyway, so why not stick with hyosung? after all, being a student I might have no choice but to hold on to it for a long time until I can afford to run a larger bike.
If I take the bike back, as its been said I will be worried about it crapping out after the warranty expires, not to mention the re-sale of it.
So I could come to some reasonable agreement and keep my current one...
but my best option would be to get a brand new GT250R, which no doubt will involve me waiting a few MORE months for a shipment to arrive.
rushed post to be continued.. ran out of time at work!
Well, they weren't far off...
There was a big holiday in Korea recently.
Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) operates on the Lunar calendar, so it's at a different time every year.
This year it happened to fall in October, from the 3rd until the 9th. As the 3rd was a Tuesday, many families and companies decided to take the Monday off as well, meaning the country was at a standstill from about Friday 29th September until Monday 9th October.
Still not a month-long holiday by any means, but then you have to consider the backlog of parts ordered over that time (as Hyobags shit themselves daily it seems) and yeah, probably takes about a month to get that part you ordered.
Looks like this time your boys weren't completely full of it...
Keep it rubber-side down...
Really? I thought they were reasonably good?
I've finally got it back! Picked her up monday but only for a short ride though, fantastic wellington weather.. Its supposed to be heading into summer!
Put a huge grin on my face immediately after starting the engine, it was if the GN never happened. I'm now patiently watching it from work, hope the weather clears itself for tomorrow.
As for the warranty I need to pop hyosung an email, the salesman said he'd be surprised if they don't accept, as it does not cost them anything. The mechanic(s) said they had taken it for a ride, and to also to bring it in once again after 500-1000km for a checkup.
The CDI has also been replaced, unfortunately it came with an aussie CDI system which retards the throttle for noise and gas emissions, it was most noticable in third gear with a huge flatspot - until now
As for the R6, I'll admit it's a big step up but I'm sure I'll manage it, it's not like my wrist will spontaneously spasm out of control. When I have money I'm thinking of doing advanced riding courses and\or something newbie friendly like streetstock - I need to actually check it out first, but that kind of thing does interest me.
All in all, it's pretty shit it happened, I'm not quite out of the woods yet but I've got it back nonetheless.
